No baby as of yet, even though we thought something was starting this past Friday. I was having Braxton Hicks Contractions for over 8 hours. I must admit I was getting very excited, if not nervous too. In the mean time here we are...

My Holidays in Portugal ~ 2005

This year I got to go to Portugal with my mommy and my vovo. We had such a great time. For starters, our family's house is set up very nicely for a kid. Especially since my vovo is so awesome and he bought me a Spider Man pool for the courtyard. I got to play with Simone & Conrad's old toys as well. Vovo spent loads of time playing with me out side. I also saw loads of soccer games as well as walked to the salao almost every night. For those of you who have never been to Portugal, a salao is a community hall/cafe. I am sure they sell coffee & beer, but more importantly they sell ice cream & CANDY!!! I may not try a new vegetable, but I do NOT pass up trying a new candy. There are also kids there for me to play with, which is fantastic. I have made loads of new friends & got to meet my family here as well. We spent time at the beach & traveled to a bit. Overall, even though I missed my daddy, I had a great time.

Monkey, Dufus, Vovo & I had a fantastic time in Pennsatucky. I had a very lazy weekend while my daughter was thoroughly entertained by her Madrinha, Padrinho & cousins.

Just an FYI to catch everyone up. Carlos's son received a letter last week from his high school commending him for his outstanding marks. He has been invited to participate in a program which will have him mentoring other students. This will be an opportunity for him to share his fantastic work habits with others. Hmm, like taking two naps a day to rejuvenate his brain power or maybe there's the one where you wait until you're on your way to school on the bus to do your work. Go figure. Either way congrats...

February 14 ~ Happy Birthday Uncle Albert!!!

February 9-12 ~ Back to Auntie Diane's...YIIPPEEEEE!!! Oh yeah, it was nice to see Uncle Joe too.

Monkey had a fantastic time with her Auntie & Uncle while I worked a few extra days & then went to NYC for a night. When Stephen dropped her off, she ran right to Diane & was more than thrilled to be there. She got to play with the two cats, watch Uncle Joe do Tai Chi, and laugh her head off with Auntie Diane. I like to think that she missed her parents, but I think I'd be fooling myself to say that she gave us much thought. Thanks again Jose & Diane.

February 4, 2005 ~ Happy Birthday Jane!

We went out to celebrate Jane's birthday last night. Vôvô generously babysat while we were out. We had left Sophia in bed & vôvô was watching Sophie's Choice with the baby monitor very close by in case she were to wake up. We didn't call from the restaurant to check on either of them figuring we'd wake vôvô . Much to our surprise when we quietly entered the house at midnight, there were sounds coming from the living room. Had vôvô fallen asleep and left the DVD playing? NOPE! Instead we found our little girl having a party with her vôvô. It seems that she never fell asleep. Soon after we left, vôvô heard her up in her room so went to 'save' her. After being dragged around the house looking for mamae & dada, she tried to get vôvô to log on and go to www.sesamestreet.com. Even after a good effort with the mouse & several attempts banging on the keyboard, she still wasn't able to get the computer to work so she & vôvô settled in the living room where they played dolls, dumped and filled her coin container & played loads of other games. Thanks again vôvô. We owe you!!!
